by Pelican Reef Wicker has promoted Carlos Oliva to vice president of operations, and he will also serve on the executive team, which includes CEO Allen Calzadilla, President Mayleen Chadwick, and VP of Finance Lien Alvarez.
“Growing with the Pelican Reef family has been full of wonderful experiences over the past 17 years, and I am looking forward to this next evolution and the years to come,” Oliva says. “Our existing team has some of the most talented and dedicated individuals who believe in the brand, the company, and who are like an extended family. When the executive team presented me with the opportunity to continue growing with the Pelican Reef team, I was so excited for the opportunity and humbled by their support.”
Oliva has been critical in guiding the company through the tariff challenges of 2019, and the pandemic of 2020, the company said in a release. His ability to implement systems and procedures throughout the company has been a core strength of the brand for Pelican Reef’s efficiencies, it continues.
“Carlos has the background knowledge, and desire to streamline a vast array of new functions that will help operations of all our divisions and transition us into an even more efficient enterprise,” says Mayleen Chadwick, president of Pelican Reef. “His loyalty and dedication to Pelican Reef Inc. and leadership skills will continue to push us, and our team members closer to our goals.”
Carlos joined Pelican Reef in 2004 as an order entry clerk in customer service. Oliva earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Florida International University. He also has his Sigma Six Black Belt Certification, and Business Management Certification from MDC.
