Giden brings on industry veteran as advisor

Giden, an influencer marketing management platform for the home furnishing industry, announces that industry veteran Richard Sexton is officially working with the company as an industry advisor.

“We are thrilled to have someone like Richard join our advisory team to focus on Giden’s product innovation and managed services growth,” the company said in a statement on its website. “As an advisor, Richard brings extensive executive leadership and hands-on experience in home furnishings retail, e-commerce, and internet marketing. We are confident that our clients can significantly leverage his wide-ranging industry expertise, Internet Marketing and e-commerce experience to advance their online strategies and initiatives.

Sexton has been helping furniture businesses with their e-commerce and digital strategies for years, specializing in website usability, conversion rates and SEO.  Previously, he served as CPO for MicroD. Under Sexton’s leadership, the firm pioneered omnichannel eCommerce technology to grow into a multi-million dollar high-end retailer of leading brands of furniture, bedding and accessories.

Sexton also previously built the home furnishings business Carolina Rustica from the ground up for over 15 years, eventually selling to Mattress USA Inc, and writes articles for various industry and e-commerce publications. Sexton holds a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Richard is an ultra-distance athlete and gives back to the community with occasional substitute teaching at the middle school level for all classes, including EC and ESL classes. He also volunteered his time for Science Fair judging and as NC Science Olympiad coach.
