In the outdoor furniture industry, safety is just as important to consumers as comfort or style. However, recent regulatory actions have put a spotlight on common design flaws in traditional patio loungers that can present potential hazards and operational risks for retailers and homeowners.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a major recall of 70,000 chaise lounges sold by a prominent retailer because of severe finger-crushing and amputation hazards.

Traditional chaise lounges often rely on rear ladder-rack or ratchet systems. When adjusted while seated, these backrests can drop unexpectedly, creating dangerous pinch points. The TouchTilt was developed with a simple philosophy: Users should never have to stand up, walk behind their chair or risk their hands to adjust their recline.
With TouchTilt, the user controls the backrest entirely while remaining comfortably seated. By pressing the integrated pneumatic button located on or under the inner armrest, the backrest responds to gentle body pressure.
