Some of the most successful companies are the quiet ones that work diligently, focus on their people and create meaningful value for their retail partners.
Three Birds Casual has always been a company that exemplifies this, and it continues to move up in the world.
Recently, the company opened a new cushion facility right next to its furniture manufacturing plant in Indiana.
“With new machines and an expanded sewing team, we’re excited to continue to offer cushions that ship directly with the frames in a 24- to 48-hour time period,” said CEO Tad Varga. “This will allow us to serve our customers that much better and get things out to them that much quicker.”

The company has also announced something few companies are able to achieve: a price reduction.
“Three Birds Casual has grown stronger as a company. Through increased production, operational efficiencies, long-standing factory partnerships, lower tariff/international freight rates and favorable market conditions, we’ve created meaningful cost savings,” Varga said. “Rather than keeping those gains to ourselves, we’ve chosen to reinvest them into our dealer network, make thoughtfully designed teak furniture more accessible and easier to sell while maintaining the craftsmanship and quality that define the Three Birds Casual brand.”
He added that the company is passing along its savings to its dealers and that he’s excited to help in their continuing growth.
Varga said he had many great conversations during the recent Casual Market and that he was more than happy with the outcome of the show.
“We were ecstatic,” he said. “We were busy from the day before the show started until the Thursday after. We had more people come in than we expected. We love seeing our customers and new potential customers, and we’re happy with the direction things are going.”
The company unveiled a couple of new collections during the Casual Market, including a bar cart and a table program that allows for interchangeable material options.

The teak bar cart is functional furniture that adds a simple yet elegant feel to outdoor spaces. Varga said the company is entering the bar cart in the ICFA’s Design Excellence Awards because of the positive response it has received so far.
Additionally, the company has made a more narrow version of its Newport table, which is a classic teak table. It will be available in a rectangular counter-height table to allow for use in smaller spaces.
The big news this market was the new Atelier collection, a modular dining table system that allows a handful of ceramic and teak tabletops to be paired with different bases.
“We want our retailer and design partners to be able to have some of that design flexibility to make the perfect product that they’re envisioning for their floor and to be able to stock a wider variety of options. If you have a handful of SKUs that you’re keeping on stock, you can make quite a few different combinations with Atelier. Additionally, for design projects, we want to be able to open it up to whatever the specifier needs. Our team has found a way to be able to get that umbrella hole in a ceramic table by reinforcing the bottom side with an aluminum plate.”
Overall, Varga said he’s excited for the growth the company is experiencing and he’s looking forward to the September Casual Market and the future of the company.
