CLINTON, Conn. — Indoor/outdoor cooktop and electric grill maker Kenyon received an IBEX Innovation Award for its Signature Induction Cooktop line. The honor was presented at the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition & Conference on Oct. 6.
The Signature Induction Cooktop was selected for design innovation and performance, designed to handle the roughest sea conditions while also offering the aesthetics of a luxury home setup. The cooktop offers advanced safety features designed to keep cooks safe at sea, with waterproof slide touch controls and an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant interface.
“The matte black glass-ceramic cooktop eliminates reflective glare, fingerprints and visible dings from daily use; but as a cook, the real innovation is the ‘bridge’ feature that spans two burners and provides even heat across a flat-top griddle or oversized pasta pot, further blurring the line between cooking onboard and at home,” said Tony Esposito, IBEX judge.

Each unit includes Kenyon’s patented, dishwasher-safe Silken Protective Mat, which can be placed directly on top of the cooktop. The mat grips cookware to keep it secure while also keeping the cooktop clean.
An Auto Zone Power Shut-Off system automatically turns off the unit when cookware is removed or left unattended, while the surface cools rapidly once cooking is finished. A control-lock feature keeps the smallest hands from being able to change settings, and boost, simmer and a smart timer means meals can be prepared as quickly or as slowly as the most delicate dishes require. Every model is backed by a 5-year product replacement warranty.
“If a cooktop can handle the demands of open waters, it can handle anything your kitchen throws at it on a busy weeknight,” said Mike Reischmann, CEO of Kenyon International Inc. “Winning this award tells us the toughest critics in the marine industry see what we see, and it tells home cooks they can expect the same cooking quality and a polished look in their own kitchens.”
Kenyon has previously earned IBEX Awards for its VDC 48V battery-operated grill in 2022, the Texan Grill with IntelliKEN Touch Control in 2016, and the Silken Grill Lid in 2014.
The Signature Induction Cooktop is available in two-burner landscape and portrait configurations, as well as a four-burner model, with prices starting at $900.
