NEW YORK — New outdoor furniture brand Sun Set will launch at the upcoming ICFF show in New York on May 17-19. The line will debut with its 500 Series, a collection of American-made outdoor furnishings inspired by midcentury Italian fiberglass design.
Sun Set — which was founded by designer and fabricator Kristen Wentrcek — uses closed-mold fiberglass, marine-grade gal coat finishes and quick-dry upholstered cushions like the materials used on sailboats to create an alternative to typical outdoor furnishing constructions.

“Sun Set came out of wanting outdoor furniture to feel more direct, more material-driven and more alive,” Wentrcek said. “There is so much sameness in the category. I wanted to make something with real presence that could handle weather and still feel exciting.”
Wentrcek is the co-founder of New York design studio Wentrcek Zebulon, along with fellow designer Andrew Zebulon.
Sun Set will bring the initial pieces from their 500 Series, featuring sculptural silhouettes designed for hospitality, residential and commercial settings. The brand will exhibit at ICFF in the Wanted/Look Book section, Booth W1250 in the Javits Center.
