Trivantage makes major investment in furniture with Sunbrella Fusion collection

Trivantage has long been known as a source of performance fabrics for the marine and awning industries. But like its sister brand, Sunbrella, Trivantage also has a furniture business, and the company is making a major expansion into that marketplace with the Sunbrella Fusion collection, which was introduced this week.

Exclusively distributed by Trivantage, the Sunbrella Fusion collection includes 144 SKUs — 114 of which are new — with an array of trend-forward solids and patterns. Mellissa Bagwell, furnishings director for Trivantage, said the line was born of continued demand from customers and furnishings makers for more options in the performance fabric category.

“We’re seeing a growing demand across the furnishings industry for products that combine an elevated design with the performance factor,” she said. “The Fusion collection is how we’re responding to that need — it’s fresh, design-forward and sophisticated, and it’s also backed by Trivantage service and expertise.”

Bagwell said the Sunbrella Fusion collection — which was created in partnership with the Sunbrella design team — was designed to work in both indoor and outdoor spaces, for residential and commercial use.

“Today’s consumers want to feel connected — they want it to all go together from the living room to the patio,” Bagwell said. “So we designed it based on that mindset. Many of the patterns and stripes have an interior textile feel, but they have that Sunbrella performance factor, so they can perform wherever it’s needed.”

Bagwell said the collection makes it easier for both interior designers and furniture manufacturers to create a sense of cohesiveness across the home. That’s particularly helpful for traditionally indoor companies that often re-create interior designs for their outdoor collections.

“There are so many options to mix and match,” Bagwell said. “A lot of the fabrics go together, so spaces can be built around each other, indoors and out.”

Along with 30 patterns carried over from the previous Sunbrella Fusion collection, the full lineup includes a wide range of motifs, including stripes, geometrics and florals, as well as solids.

“It has a balance of textures, patterns and solids, and the book is laid out to make it easy to coordinate colors and inspire people to mix and match,” Bagwell said.

The Sunbrella Fusion collection will be on display during Casual Market Atlanta, Sept. 15-18, and Trivantage will host a happy hour launch party on Sept. 15, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the ICFA Lounge. Trivantage also will showcase the collection at the Custom Workroom Conference, Sept. 28-30, in Erie, Pennsylvania; and at the Advanced Textiles Expo, Nov. 3-5, in Orlando, Florida.
