Solana Outdoor Living immerses customers in outdoor experience

Solana Outdoor Living in Tampa, Florida, is more than an outdoor furniture store; it’s an experience centered on true outdoor living.

That approach has served the store—which is a division of established outdoor design firm Ryan Hughes Design—well during its nearly two years in business.

Ryan and Sozan Hughes, founders of Ryan Hughes Design, entered the market 20-plus years ago, and the second-generation leadership have turned the firm into an internationally renowned outdoor living design and build mega-brand.

According to Chloe Ottani, marketing coordinator for Solana, the retail store made sense as the next step for the Ryan Hughes Design business.

“Ryan and Sozen were already sourcing amazing pieces and there isn’t a showroom like ours in Florida,” she says. “We have top-of-the-line brands and exclusive partnerships with some brands.”

The store carries over 30 luxury brands, each carefully vetted. These longstanding relationships allow the store to offer some of the most competitive pricing available across premier outdoor brands, according to Ottani.

She says everything in the store is for sale, which helps immerse the customer in what an outdoor living experience could be.

“Our expansive 12,000-square-foot showroom showcases not only top-tier luxury furniture, but also a curated selection of outdoor kitchens, shade structures, umbrellas, artwork, lighting, wallpaper, heating elements, fire features, and accessories—all designed for outdoor living,” she says.

And because the store sells high-end product, its customer hasn’t pulled back during uncertain economic times. Its customers are more affluent, but not the same exact level as Ryan Hughes Design, making Solana more accessible to upper middle class customers as well.

“I don’t think our customers are feeling a crunch financially,” she says. “For example If a client comes in for an umbrella, they almost always end up leaving with other products.

For Solana, the future of outdoor living isn’t just about growth—it’s about transformation.

“What was once considered a backyard is now becoming something far more intentional: a fully realized extension of how people live, entertain, and express themselves,” she explains. “Outdoor spaces are no longer secondary—they are central to lifestyle, identity, and status.”

Otteni says Solana isn’t simply participating in the evolution of the industry, it is helping define it.

“By integrating design, product, and execution into a seamless experience, Solana is building more than outdoor spaces; it is creating a new standard for how those spaces are imagined and delivered.

“The vision is clear: to lead luxury outdoor retail and distribution across Florida and beyond, secure exclusive partnerships with premier brands, and expand into hospitality, commercial, and large-scale developments,” she continues. “In doing so, Solana is positioning itself as the definitive platform for outdoor living—where every element exists under one roof. What was once an afterthought has become the most important “room” of the home. And Solana Outdoor Living is shaping what that room becomes next.”
