High Point Market Authority to move to new location

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point Market Authority is planning to relocate its headquarters to 115 S. Hamilton St. in 2027.

Construction is set to begin soon on the new building, which will be owned and operated by Hamilton Global LLC and situated between the Universal Furniture and Violino showrooms, one block north of the Market Transportation Terminal on Commerce Avenue.

“The expanded location gives HPMA the opportunity to consolidate and reimagine guest services that are currently spread out in the downtown area,” said Tammy Covington, HPMA president and CEO. “It will be the third site for HPMA since the organization’s founding in 2001 and a reflection of our focus on thoughtful and strategic growth.”

HPMA has signed a lease to occupy the 21,000-square-foot third floor, growing the organization’s present footprint and visibility. It has occupied the seventh floor of the historic Radio Building on Main Street since 2011.

High Point Market is the world’s largest home furnishings trade show and a significant contributor to the state and local economies, generating approximately $6.7 billion in annual economic impact, including $200 million in state and local taxes and support for over 42,000 jobs.
