NEW YORK — Outdoor furnishings manufacturer Walters, which specializes in furniture for architects and designers, has implemented Lectra’s Furniture on Demand and Valia Furniture platform to accelerate production workflows and order fulfillment.
Walters digitized its entire product catalog with Valia Furniture, enabling streamlined production management for both large-scale orders and smaller custom jobs. Prior to digitizing, the New York-based company relied on using physical patterns, which created challenges of finding the latest pattern, as well as adjusting those patterns.
Digitizing with the Valia Furniture platform has allowed Walters to improve workflow efficiency by eliminating time-consuming manual searches for physical patterns and ensuring the latest version is always available. The system connects to existing equipment in the cutting room, allowing Walters to seamlessly integrate Valia into existing workflows.

“Our experience with Lectra, as a first-time customer, has been very positive — everything from presale to the installation to the follow-up support has been nothing but outstanding,” said Adam Schindler, CEO of Walters. “We chose Furniture on Demand because it was the most advanced platform yet very intuitive and user-friendly.”
The Valia Furniture platform and Furniture on Demand rely on real-time analytics to enable smarter, faster decision-making and continuous workflow optimization. The complete digitization process can be accomplished in hours, making integration simple, even for larger operations.
Lectra has developed these cloud-based on-demand services for a number of industries in addition to furniture, including apparel and automotive. In 2023, the company expanded its Furniture on Demand platform to Mexico, allowing production facilities south of the border to tap into its capability to reduce repetitive tasks, streamline production and cut costs.
“Walters’ adoption of Lectra’s solutions illustrates how forward-looking manufacturers can connect the dots across the production lifecycle and embrace digital transformation to unlock efficiency and scale,” said Leonard Marano, president of the Americas at Lectra. “With Valia Furniture and Furniture on Demand, companies can accelerate lead teams, reduce manual processes and future proof operations — without compromising their craftsmanship.”
