Casual News Now revises date of 1st off-the-record online retailer roundtable

Casual News Now will not hold its in-person retailer roundtable event at the September Casual Market after confirming that the International Casual Furnishings Association will hold its traditional retailer roundtable and think tank event on the Sunday before the market from noon to 4 p.m.

Instead, while Casual News Now’s online roundtables will continue monthly on the first business day of each month starting in October, the first event will now be held on Sept. 9. We will send out a reminder the week before, and please RSVP to alex@homenewsnow.com to receive a Zoom link.

We understand that it can be hard to line up everyone’s schedule, so we aim to give people multiple opportunities — and a regular schedule — to allow them to participate and learn from their peers.

As for the topics to be discussed, we’d love your input. Please email alex@homenewsnow.com with your topic ideas and to RSVP to the event in September. Use the subject line “off the record” and let’s work together to make the industry stronger.

As a reminder, we have heard from multiple retailers that they want more roundtable discussions, and that’s why Casual News Now will hold virtual retailer roundtables to help facilitate conversations between retailers across the country so they can share ideas and discuss important topics.

As a trade publication reporting on the industry, we want to make one thing very clear: Everything discussed at these roundtables is completely off the record. In the journalism world, that’s a sacred promise to not report on anything said.

We are starting this based on a need to promote collaboration and bring like-minded people together to talk about ideas. It isn’t meant to be a vehicle for driving news stories about the industry.
