Casual News Now launching off-the-record retailer roundtables

With container prices climbing up, a new generation of customers entering the market and inflation causing consumers to spend less on furniture, the industry is in flux, to say the least. But it always helps to talk to your peers.

We have heard from multiple retailers that they want more roundtable discussions, and that’s why Casual News Now will hold virtual and in-person retailer roundtables to help facilitate conversations between retailers across the country so they can share ideas and discuss important topics.

As a trade publication reporting on the industry, we want to make one thing very clear: Everything discussed at these roundtables is completely off the record. In the journalism world, that’s a sacred promise to not report on anything said.

We are starting this based on a need to promote collaboration and bring like-minded people together to talk about ideas. It isn’t meant to be a vehicle for driving news stories about the industry.

The online roundtables will continue monthly starting in October and take place on the first business day of the month. We understand that it can be hard to line up everyone’s schedule, so we aim to give people multiple opportunities — and a regular schedule — to allow them to participate and learn from their peers.

As for the topics to be discussed, we’d love your input. Please email alex@homenewsnow.com with your topic ideas and to RSVP to the event in September. Use the subject line “off the record” and let’s work together to make the industry stronger.
