Sunpan opens 200,000-square-foot Texas warehouse

Sunpan has opened a new 200,000-square-foot warehouse located in the Greater Houston area of Baytown, Texas. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the opening of the company’s first permanent warehouse in the United States. This notable expansion is a testament to Sunpan’s ongoing commitment to streamlining its distribution network across North America.

“As our customer base in the U.S. continues to grow rapidly, this new warehouse will play a critical role in our efforts to meet these increasing demands,” says Sundeep Bagga, president and CEO. “We’re excited about the new opportunities this will bring for our business and our ability to better service our customers.”

The new warehouse will more than double Sunpan’s total warehousing footprint between Toronto and Houston, providing customers with greater access to inventory. Customers based in the United States now have the option to order products from both the Toronto and Houston warehouses, based on inventory availability. Closer warehouse proximity results in faster fulfillment to parts of the United States. Pickup from the Houston facility will now also be offered to American customers.

Concurrent with the launch, Sunpan has unveiled an innovative online ordering system. This new digital integration allows American customers to access live inventory and order from both the Toronto and Houston warehouses on the company’s U.S. website. Additionally, American customers can also request to pick up their orders from the Houston warehouse. This enhancement gives the company’s clients the ability to take advantage of a broader selection of products, while conveniently managing orders based on their business needs.

Sunpan will employ around 50 people at the distribution facility and has already hired 80% of its workforce. “I’m excited Sunpan is bringing its global brand to the city of Baytown, creating more jobs in a robust local economy,” says Brandon Capetillo, mayor of Baytown. “Baytown is already known for its footprint on the global economy and adding Sunpan only increases our visibility as more top companies look to call our community home.”
