Sattler Outdura transfers to PFAS-free fabrics

Sattler Outdura, a division of The Sattler Group, Austria, has switched the production of all its casual furniture fabrics to a PFAS-free formulation, effective Oct. 1.

The company, based in Hudson, North Carolina, says the new formulation provides its customers with the same stain and water repellency as in the past and all fabrics will continue to be covered under the company’s 10-year warranty. It added that the new PFAS-free formulation has gone through long laboratory trials and field testing.

“We believe that not just our industry, but all of us bear the responsibility to our customers, ourselves and our future generations to be kind and considerate to the environment and health,” says CEO Ulrich Tombuelt. “Sattler has a long history of being on the forefront of innovations and the highest industry quality standards; the PFAS-free formulation is no exception to those principals and we are very proud of the achievement to provide our customers with a finish which is no different to what our customers are used to, with the exception of the oil repellency. We know we have an excellent finish, and the durability of our fabrics is just as good as it ever was.”
