Meadowcraft ceases production

Alabama-based outdoor furniture maker Meadowcraft has halted production as of Sept. 30. Parent company Wadley Holdings LLC sent out a notice saying that it “will cease production of its Meadowcraft furniture brand,” and that “the company is seeking strategic alternatives for the brand.”

Wadley Holdings, which was a subsidiary of Atlanta-based Southern Sales & Marketing Group, purchased Meadowcraft in 2009 after an involuntary petition for reorganization filed under Chapter 11 bankruptcy was filed against the company. More recently, Georgia-based industrial services company Airco Inc. took ownership of Wadley Holdings and Meadowcraft.

Casual News Now reached out to Airco and Meadowcraft for comment but has not received a response from either as of this writing.

Meadowcraft was founded in 1963 and produced iron furnishings at its Wadley, Alabama, facility, selling to both brick-and-mortar retailers as well as large e-commerce outlets such as Wayfair. The company also lists contract and hospitality as one of its divisions on its website. Meadowcraft also had a booth on the temporary floor at Casual Market Atlanta in September.

The notice of Meadowcraft’s closure noted that “the company will be seeking buyers for the remaining inventory once production is complete.”

This is an ongoing story, and we will update as more details become available.
