SUWANEE, Ga. — Casual furnishings maker NorthCape is consolidating operations to parent company Group Bayport’s headquarters in Georgia. The consolidation will take effect Feb. 1, and NorthCape’s Illinois facility will cease operations.
“This consolidation of operations in Georgia’s new state-of-the-art facility will bring further operational efficiencies and significantly augment our ability to leverage Group Bayport’s team, global supply chain and customer service,” said Tom Murray, president, NorthCape. “We are eager to move forward and improve the business with best-in-class customer experience as the focus.”
Murray said the Georgia facility is newer and much larger than their Illinois operation, allowing NorthCape to expand capacity by more than 100%.
NorthCape has offered relocation to employees in Illinois while also assisting with placement in new jobs where possible for those who opted not to relocate. Some sales, marketing and admin teams will remain in Illinois, and the company is aggressively adding operations employees in Georgia.
NorthCape was acquired by Group Bayport in 2024. The company already operated a custom outdoor cushion division, along with divisions specializing in signage and displays, as well as home decor. The influx of capital and expanded manufacturing capabilities — in addition to its Georgia facility, Group Bayport also operates in Phoenix and India — have benefited NorthCape as it looks to grow and expand its product offerings.

It will allow us to take the next big steps to give our customers exceptional products and service, and offer delivery time of under two weeks for most of our products.”
