WADENA, Minn. — Homecrest Outdoor Living has named Philip Payne as the new director of commercial sales. In the role, Payne will oversee and manage all commercial sales initiatives to drive strategic growth and strengthen the company’s presence in the market.
Payne began his career in the outdoor industry in 2010 as a regional contract sales manager for Gloster Furniture.

He advanced through diverse senior leadership roles over the course of 15 years with the company, including national contract sales manager, head of sales and client engagement manager. During this period, Payne drove 115% growth in the contract channel; developed KPIs that set attainable, growth-oriented sales goals; and authored and instructed a CEU course approved by the IIDA and ASID.
“I’m very excited to welcome Philip Payne as our new director of commercial sales,” said Mark Bottemiller, Homecrest vice president of sales. “Philip brings a strong background in premium outdoor furniture and national contract sales, which positions Homecrest for continued growth in the commercial market. We’re eager to see the impact he’ll make and are confident he’ll be a tremendous resource for sales representatives, dealers, designers and specifiers alike.”
With extensive experience in the hospitality and commercial outdoor markets, Payne has a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end business processes ranging from manufacturing and material sourcing to accounting, sales and marketing strategies, Homecrest said. He is widely regarded by customers and colleagues as a trusted industry leader, known for his integrity, hardworking attitude and ability to cultivate lasting relationships.
“Homecrest is a family-owned company, and when I came on my visit to the factory, it felt like home,” Payne said. “I share a lot of the same values and work ethic as the team members at Homecrest, and I look forward to working with them to implement sales strategies and methods I have used over the years to grow revenue.”
Based in Virginia, Payne is married with two children, two dogs and two cats. He enjoys traveling and spending time at the lake with his family. He is passionate about youth sports, having served as coach, vice president and president of various sports organizations over the years, including baseball, softball, basketball, soccer and golf.
