Hooker Furnishings hosting High Point Market events

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Hooker Furnishings and its outdoor brand Sunset West will host several educational and social events during the High Point Market, Oct. 25-29.

On Oct. 25 at 4 p.m., the company will host a ribbon-cutting launch of its new Margaritaville Living Collection, which includes outdoor furnishings inspired by the island lifestyle and music of Jimmy Buffett. That night at 7, Buffett’s Coral Reefers Band will perform in the Center Stage area between Showplace and the transportation terminal. The concert is free for market attendees.

Educational and social sessions will be held in Hooker’s designer theater inside its showroom in Showplace, Floor 3. Events include:

Designing for Escape: Interiors That Transport and Photography That Captures the Feeling.

Oct. 24, 2-3 p.m.

Moderators: Jessica Duce and Linda Holt.

Learn how to design and capture stunning vacation-inspired spaces in this interactive workshop with smartphone photography expert Linda Holt and award-winning interior designer Jessica Duce.

Lessons Learned and Profits Earned: Design Pros Share Their Design Business Journey and Their Path to Profitability.

Oct. 26, 10-11 a.m.

Moderator: Rick Campos, Host of Design Biz Survival Guide Podcast.

Panelists: DuVäl Reynolds of DuVal Design and Barette Widell and Christina Boschetti of Widell + Boschetti.

This panel discussion features three industry pros discussing where they started, where they’ve been and where they’re headed in the business of design. Panelists will reveal lessons learned, finding their why, their path to profitability and their vision for the future of their design business.
