Brown Jordan opening New York Design Center showroom

Brown Jordan is grand-opening its new showroom in the New York Design Center on November 7, 2022.

“Featuring a total of twelve different collections throughout the showroom, it was important to create spaces within that felt like distinct cocoons for each of the collections without impeding the movement throughout,” says Barbara Reimelt, CEO of Nintyninegroup, the company that helped design the showroom. “The flow of the showroom intentionally creates an invisible guide that allows you to experience the spaces in a way that seamlessly propels you from one space to the next. In my design approach, I also like to make a connection to art. So for me, I was reminded of Richard Serra sculptures. Then I compared the beautiful Walter Lamb sun lounge with the beautiful sculptures and it felt so organic and so beautifully interconnected, so we added that element to the design.”

Bringing forth Reimelt’s unique ability to translate Brown Jordan’s brand identity within the context of a  store environment are demonstrated below, highlighting unparalleled design details of the showroom:

• Upon entering, to the right, a beautifully crafted 10ft maroon brand wall was inspired by the sumptuous curves of Brown Jordan’s iconic Walter Lamb Rocking Chair. (designed to be so sheen that one can check their lipstick in the reflection)
• To the left, a custom two screened room divider was created to mimic the ironclad detailing of Brown Jordan’s iconic Calcutta Chair as a unique opportunity to showcase craftsmanship in an multidisciplinary approach.  
• Continuing further in the showroom, a custom pergola structure was created as a playful approach to outdoor living inspired by The Longhouse Reserve in New York. 
• Filtered throughout the expansive space is the never before-seen lighting collection from the Brown Jordan x Kelly Wearstler partnership, illuminating the highly designed vignettes throughout the showroom. (Collection to be announced November 2022)
• Sculptures by Richard Serra that are organic and so beautifully interconnected with the collections
