Brown Jordan announces price increases

In an email to retailers obtained by Casual News Now, Brown Jordan Inc. told customers that though it recently increased prices by 10%, Covid, inflation and supply chain issues, it will implement a 10% price increase on all stock and early buy orders over $15,000.00 that were entered prior to March 3, 2022, and will ship after March 21, 2022.

The letter says orders will be reacknowledged at the new price in the coming days and will follow standard approval policies. “To preserve supply for the current backlog of orders, we will pause new product launches until supply becomes more stable. We believe it is more important for us to use the limited material supply to get your orders of existing products shipped before we introduce new products,” it says.

Additionally, the company will cancel all orders in the backlog for the Andover, Ronde, and Crestwood collections from
Tropitone. “These collections will not be reintroduced for the 2023 season as we will pause new product launches for all BJI brands until supply becomes more stable,” the email says.

“Lead times remain extended due to continued supply chain shortages,” it continues. “Many of our retail partners placed stock and early buy orders prior to the price increase announcement to avoid the impending price increase and to get into the production queue for the upcoming season. The overwhelming challenge we now face is producing product that costs considerably more to produce than it would have cost when orders were received months ago. The rising costs of raw materials and freight rates continue to skyrocket at rates that no one would have possibly foreseen.”
