Polywood was awarded the Green Award during the 32nd Annual ARTS Awards gala on Friday, January 7 at the Hilton Anatole hotel in Dallas, Texas.
“The ARTS Awards producers, ART, and the Dallas Market Center salute Polywood for their commitment to maintaining and actively promoting sustainable practices in their business,” said Sharon Davis, executive director of ART and ARTS Awards co-ordinator. “They deserve to be recognized this year for their outstanding success.”
Each year ARTS Awards recipients are chosen by a panel of leading industry experts. The Green Award has the additional distinction of being judged by the Executive Director of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, Susan Inglis.
This honor is awarded annually to one company that meets a lengthy list of criteria including:
- An environmentally responsible supply chain
- Green manufacturing and business practices
- A prolonged commitment to sustainability in its company philosophy
When asked about receiving the Green Award, Senior Vice President of Business Development at Polywood, Megan Pierson added:
“Polywood was founded in 1990 as the first manufacturer to make outdoor furniture using recycled plastic materials. Our core mission of sustainability has remained consistent for over three decades, so to be recognized by the ARTS Awards and the Sustainable Furnishings Council as leaders in the green furniture industry is truly an honor we hold near and dear to our hearts.”
