Sales representatives are extremely important in the home furnishings world, but the most important thing they can do is build relationships with others in the industry.
And in the casual world, there are two relationships sales reps should focus on the most: vendor and client.
It is of most importance to have a very close relationship with our vendors, as there are many variances to deal with. In particular, new item and pricing updates, new and growing protocols, different methods of operation, and a variety of customer service approach.
Updates come more often and at times quite swiftly, especially with shifting and changing logistics, and the times we are living under with freight being so volatile these days. That’s why it’s critical to stay focused more so these days than ever, and we must be ready for a bit more growth as times progress.
We must also maintain a top-notch customer service relationship and attitude, as we are the glue and binding agents as well as the translating entity that keeps our clients happy, healthy and secure in these changing times with production and logistic delays as well as price fluctuations on a regular basis.
Sales reps need to stay focused so we can help our clients maintain and remain on an even keel as our business is growing in leaps and bounds. Especially during these Covid times where our clientele is looking for more expansion in outdoor living lifestyle with end-users growing their Staycation projects and more construction is spreading, whether it be contract or high-end residential.
We must plan for continued growth, which is why it’s important to fortify our business approach and continue to focus on being a strong support team for our clientele.
Let’s make sure we attend the proper trade shows for our focus, whether it be commercial, business, or residential retail.
Stay focused and continue to brand yourself and your vendors so your clientele can find comfort and feel satisfied with our continued service.
