Windward Design Group has announced a reduction in lead times due to efficiency planning across their manufacturing model.
The company reports that its retail partners are experiencing shorter than expected delivery times compared to others in the casual furniture industry, as Windward is currently able to provide an 8- to 10-week lead time on outdoor furniture and accessory orders.
The company continues to undergo re-alignment planning that will further reduce in the next four to five months to provide an expected delivery within 6- to 8-weeks to domestic customers from its Sarasota, Florida-based plant.
“Our entire manufacturing operation has been fortunate in its ability to capitalize upon our US-based positioning allowing us to provide shorter domestic lead times,” says Rachel Peace, chief information officer. “But, through further adjustments across our production process, we are positioning Windward Design Group to shorten these even further this fall.”
Within the efficiency planning, Windward Design Group has been adjusting elements from manufacturing to materials and inventory management. They also have “enhanced relationships with domestic suppliers to provide timely turnarounds needed on elements used in the construction of the company’s quality products, ” according to a release.
The planning has been overseen by Windward Design Group’s executive team including its recently hired plant manager, Chad Desmett.
“Windward Design Group has become our go-to source for their value and popular style of outdoor furnishings,” says Tami Newton, owner of and director of sales and marketing for The Source Furnishings. “Due to our selling season and customer’s immediate need, it is a benefit to our customers and our team to have a source able to deliver high-quality products in a timely manner.”
