European-based brand Bemz enters the outdoor category with the introduction of its Terrazzo collection, which features a refined and colorful array of covers for back, seat and sunbed cushions.
The line also marks the company’s reintroduction to the U.S. market, as the company is known in the European market for its high-quality, tailor-made covers for IKEA furniture and home textiles.
This new collection is inspired by the Mediterranean climate and lifestyle, where a large portion of time is spent outdoors — cooking, socializing and unwinding. Bemz seeks to embrace this way of life by creating a cozy, yet modern, furnished patio style. Terrazzo’s fabric offerings consist of sophisticated woven structures such as tweed and bouclé in striped and checked patterns that can be combined with soft, neutral base colors for an elevated look.
The collection is curated by Filippa Bonde — head of product at Bemz and former product manager at high-fashion brand Acne Studios — who has developed a color palette in muted tones with vibrant accent colors including red and blue.
“With the Terrazzo Collection, we wanted to encourage our customers to treat their outdoor space like a room of its own,” Bonde says. “Stepping onto a beautifully decorated patio should feel like stepping into a second living room. Mediterranean countries, and Italy in particular, have mastered this. I wanted to add more playfulness to our patios — after the era of monochrome, we’re longing for colors and patterns.”
The Terrazzo Collection showcases six intricate fabrics in 10 different color combinations. All fabrics in the collection are water-repellent, UV-resistant and durable — designed to withstand UV fading, summer rains, and life’s little spills and stains. Some 67% of the collection is made from Rolefin, a synthetic fiber constructed of recycled fabrics from the fashion industry.
The covers are made to order in Europe and fit a wide range of outdoor furniture and cushions. They can be used universally on cushions with suitable dimensions. Inner cushions are not included.
