Homecrest Outdoor Living has added Steve Mangano to its team of residential sales representatives. Mangano will represent the company’s line of outdoor furniture in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Mangano began his career in retail as a management trainee at Federated Department Stores, the corporate headquarters for retailers including Filene’s, Abraham & Strauss and Lazarus. He also worked as a buyer for home furnishings at Allied Stores in Queens, New York. Mangano became an outdoor furniture buyer for Fortunoff in the 1980s, helping procure products for the company under the original Fortunoff family ownership.
Then, in 1991, he transitioned to his career as a sales representative in the patio, hearth and barbecue industry. His background in retail made the transition to sales seamless, giving him a greater understanding of the issues and concerns that dealers face, the company said in a news release, adding that Mangano is a tenacious advocate for his customers and the brands he represents. He is known for his unmatched work ethic and commitment, as well as his excellent communication and efficiency.
When he is not working, Mangano enjoys spending time with his family at the beach and other fun locations.
