Boxhill & Co. featured on new Discovery Channel show

Online outdoor furniture retailer Boxhill & Co recently worked alongside home furnishings brand The Novagratz and artist and interior designer Danielle Nagel of DazeyLA to create an outdoor space in Palm Springs, California at Trixie Motel—a hotel founded by a winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Trixie Mattel AKA Brian Michael Firkus.

Trixie and the hotel are stars of the Discovery Channel show“Trixie Motel,” which debuted in June, and Nagel was the one that connected everyone.

Boxhill CEO Elizabeth Przygoda met Nagel at the Altitude Women’s Entrepreneur Summit in 2019 when they were both were speaking at the event.

“Dani was doing a fashion show, and I knew right away I wanted to do some kind of collaboration with her,” Przygoda says. “Our first project was Desert Daze, and her energy was just amazing. So when she reached out about the project she was working on for ‘Trixie Motel,’ it sounded perfect. We have had such good experiences with the Discovery Channel, dating back to when we won the Ultimate Outdoor Award in 2018 with HGTV.”

The Novagratz provided chic, retro-style outdoor furniture, while Nagel and Przygoda reimagined the space with additional vintage-looking umbrellas, outdoor sectionals and the covered mid-century modern daybed.

“I designed and Frankford Umbrellas helped us make the vintage umbrella dream come true,” Przygoda says. “We did bubblegum pink and white, pagoda-style with the old fashion fringe as well as outdoor sectionals, mid-century outdoor furniture day beds and stylish chairs from Ledge Lounger.”

“It’s a pleasure to work with such fun and colorful talented women like Dani and Trixie,” Przygoda continues. “I’m honored that Dani thought of using a small woman-owned business instead of going to a big-box store.”
